The St Patrick’s Festival and St Patrick’s Day Parade is held in many cities across Europe, but the celebrations in Dublin are perhaps the most famous. The festival marks the death of St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Typically the event is marked by a huge parade with the Irish colours of dark green prominent. The event is typically celebrated between 17 – 20 March in different countries, with the parades held on the 17th.
