Just got back from Dorset, where I had the most delicious fish and chips from one of the beachside stalls at West Bay.
We spent the morning basking on the beach at Burton Bradstock. West Bay is a stone’s throw down the coast and has a different vibe. Jenny had compared it to Southend-on-Sea, and the sight of several dozen bikers in black leathers when we arrived made me feel the comparison was apt.
Probably they too were there for the fish & chips. I ordered a small cod and chips for £8 but I could have gone for standard size at £10.50 or large at £13.
(I cannot quite imagine who or what would “go large” as the small was more than enough to share between us).
West Bay is a small fishing harbour with food huts and waterside restaurants all around it. You can even hire a fishing boat and try to catch your own.
