It’s Saturday, and the church at Logga has suddenly come alive. We woke up at 8 am, for this holiday earlier than usual, to the sound of churchbells and then a rhythmic chanting.

We are still not quite sure what sounds are recorded, and what is real. Most days the bells ring on the hour, but even this is intermittent.

We assumed the sound of the bells was recorded, or that some AI-powered device was active, but certainly not that the local priest or campanologist was out there in sackcloth and tonsure physically exerting himself.

Anyway, the sound of the chanting is very pleasant, soI will look into whether it is a special feast day or maybe it’s just part of the usual weekend devotions.
